What Happens When Technology Meets Fundraising? The Answer Is Great Things!

Have you ever wondered what happens when the Internet meets fundraising for nonprofit organizations? Recently, I discovered the answer. It’s called FirstGiving.com First Giving is an organization that has made it their mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere to raise money for US nonprofit organizations supporting causes they care about. First Giving runs a website that you can get to by clicking on their name anywhere in this article. They make fundraising so easy that you just can’t say that you don’t have time anymore. The process takes minutes to start and their system makes following through very easy.

To raise money for the nonprofit of your choice, you set up an online fundraising page using templates First Giving has already created for you. You add your information and details about the activity you are doing and the organization you are doing it for. Once you’ve set up your page on their site, links to the page, along with a personal message from you, are sent to your family and friends to ask for their support. Really simple isn’t it? You can decide to raise money in any way that is right for you. You can run, walk, shoot basketball hoops, grow your hair, or whatever you decide to do.

No more excuses! Now that you can raise money for the US nonprofit of your choice in such an easy way, you have no excuse not to do it. You can use their site to raise money individually and you can also set up a company wide effort to raise money. It’s your choice and it’s easy to do. I love when technology meets the desire to accomplish something positive. If you have a US nonprofit organization you would like to raise money for, visit FirstGiving.com and find out more about the online fundraising tools they have to offer. I'm not sure if or when FirstGiving will extend their efforts to support nonprofits around the world, however, you can contact FirstGiving directly to find out.

Don't have a fundraising idea, but still want to support a cause. That's fine too. FirstGiving allows you to donate money as well. You can visit the site and give money to the meaningful cause of your choice. Visit their site and let me know what you think. http://www.FirstGiving.com :-)
